The Permanent Secretary (Mrs. Ibukun A. Odusote) held a Ministerial Town Hall meeting with the headquarters staff of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at Women Development Centre, Central Area, Abuja on Wednesday, 16th January, 2013. In her opening remarks, she urged staff to imbibe the spirit of teamwork, diligence and to add value to their work in the various areas of responsibilities. In her speech, though brief but very précised, she promised to take the Ministry to greater height and in particular address all issues concerning the staff welfare. She promised to create a good and favorable working environment and provide all the tools and functional internet facilities required by them to deliver on results. The Permanent Secretary intends to develop a critical mass of young staff that will be well trained in various aspect of Information Communication Technology (ICT). Such staff will be between GL 08 to 12 and below the age of 40 years. After training, these staff will be deployed to their various Departments to manage the ICT functions. She asked staff that falls within this category to apply to the Director, Permanent Secretary’s Office. The interactive session provided opportunity for staff to ask questions which were discussed and answered.
